The School Day at St Margaret’s

8.50am – 3.20pm

As a school, we should deliver at least 32.5 hours of education a week for your child. We achieve this by planning the school day as below. Thank you for your support in ensuring that your child is prompt to arrive and ready to learn.

The school day begins at St. Margaret’s at 8.50am. Both gates will be opened up at 8.40am, with the doors to the classrooms being opened at 8.45am. Ensuring that your child arrives at school on time is really important as it allows them to start their day on the right foot. However, we do understand that sometimes it is just ‘one of those days’, on these rare circumstances, your child will have to enter through the school office as we will lock the gates at 9am. The class register will close at 8.55am, if your child enters the classroom after this time they will be registered as late.

Lunch break begins at 12pm and finishes at 1pm. The afternoon session starts at 1pm and finishes at 3.20pm. We will unlock the gates at 3.15pm so that you can collect your child.
