We’ve been very busy here in The Woodlands. We read a different book each week and we follow Drawing Club and our EYFS curriculum. If you’re wanting information on the curriculum that we cover, please visit our curriculum page here.

Assessments

Throughout school life, we assess how the progress the children are making. This is done in a number of ways, and you can find out about more about this here.

In Reception, there is a statutory formal Baseline assessment carried out at the start of the year.

At the end of Reception, the teachers make assessments on all 17 strands of learning and these allow the school to see who has made a Good Level of Development (GLD).

PE

In The Woodlands we do PE on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons - children should come into school in PE uniform.

Thursday PM - We go to the Wilderness. Please ensure children are provided with warm waterproof clothing as we will be out in all weathers.
